Dollar Sushi Night

Tonight I participated in the ultimate college, deal meal! Dollar sushi night! There were three of us and $80 dollars later and full bellies, we walked away with a deal...maybe. The meal seams to always taste great, the eel that is imported from who knows where, the fresh frozen tuna from??? No matter where it is from it is always fun to wait in the 30 min line and to order plates of sushi along with a couple bottles of beer.

We had some awesome house eel hand rolls filled with avocado, smoked salmon rolls, yellow fin tuna, and some spicy eel rolls! Eel combinations have become my preferred ingredients in sushi. It contains a special flavor completely different from any other fish or ingredient. The texture is also unlike any other with the buttery and flaky properties! I always thought the essence to making great sushi is all about using complimenting textures but that is not the solution for the Eel which tastes amazing with the avocado. I do think the most complimenting flavor with sushi is hops, a light and refreshing beer always goes great, but what doesn't it go well with. I do know someone who swears by drinking diet coke with sushi...I guess no matter who you are it all depends on what goes along with your tastes....So roll it up and drink it down, it is dollar sushi night Monday and Wednesday, and you are guaranteed to walk away with a huge bill no matter what!

I am one of the most random people you will ever meet, as you can see my last two blog entries I had this plan to have a topic based blog but whenever I decide to make a plan for something I completely deviate from that plan. So now I am just enhoying a night of sewing, making Fideua, and drinking wine. The wine is an organic Malbec and my Fideua just boiled out all of the stock so this might not work out so well, but it doesn't matter.

The fideua turned out nicely! With all of the beauty living in Montana offers, I am craving some culture and watching "Paris Je T'aime." Not good for the traveling heart!

Spring is Coming!

This morning I went on a run, and the grass was turning green. These are the things I enjoy about the Garden City! I just can't wait until the Farmers Market starts, and people break out of their houses and breathe some fresh air. As a way to cope with being in the city I will start writing about the awesome things the city has!

Potatoes, Eggs, Wine and Veggies

My goal for the next week is not to live on break alone but on wine. (I wish) No, I have heard from a reliable source that it is possible to live in $3 a day, and still eat well. A few of the suggestions for food ingredients i was given were; potatoes, onions, and eggs. My goal is to try it out for a week and live on mainly those three items, at least for dinner. My task is to get creative...lets hope it isn't just fries!
